OPA ’90 Oil Spill Response Kits, exclusive accessories
According to the IMO resolution A535/13 and the Oil Pollution Act (OPA) of 1990 section 4202 it is recommended that vessels of 400 Ft (122 mtr) and less shall have sufficient equipment of sorbent materials to handle remove 7 barrels (1100 litres) of oil while larger vessels must be equipped to take care of 12 barrels (1900 litres) of oil. In-land oil barges must be able to deal with at least 1 barrel (159 litres) of oil.
These specially designed Oil Spill Response Kits contains oil adsorbents which are waterrepellent and are made of 100% Polypropylene. All products are cost-effective and adsorb 10 to 25 times its own weight.
Note:
- Adsorption products can be fringed and do not swell. Therby: fluid remains fluid and release of vapour still remains.
- For low viscous fluids and chemicals we advise using our Imbiber Beads absorption products.
